APSA Conference for Chairs

2009 Conferences for Chairs, Baltimore MD, February 5-6, 2009, APSA

The 2009 APSA Conference for Chairs will be held February 5-6, 2009, in Baltimore, Maryland, in conjunction with the Teaching and Learning Conference.  The Conference for Chairs is a unique professional development and networking opportunity for political science department chairs. It provides a venue for chairs to interact with peers in an environment tailored to their unique roles in the discipline, while combining valuable opportunities for structured and unstructured discussions regarding trends and challenges in political science today. 

The conference is part of the Association’s ongoing commitment to support the work of departments and is overseen by the APSA Departmental Services Committee. Conferences were held in 2007 and 2008.  Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback and the success of those meetings, APSA aims to make the Conference for Chairs a regular feature of its programming.

REGISTRATION

The cost to register for the conference is as follows:

  • For attendees from departments that are APSA Departmental Services Program members: $240 
  • For attendees from departments that ARE NOT Departmental Services Program members: $320
