Professional Development at the Annual Meeting Short Courses, Panels, Placement and More

People talking at the Annual MeetingThe APSA Annual meeting provides many opportunities to develop and hone skills related to the discipline, such as teaching, research, and publishing.  A number of panels, short courses, and roundtables are offered throughout the Annual Meeting that may help with professional development.

Professional Day Short Courses
Each year, APSA hosts a professional day on the Wednesday prior to the start of the Meeting. On that day, organized sections and related groups may offer a variety of Short Courses.  Short Courses are half- or full-day sessions that provide opportunities for APSA attendees to enhance their knowledge and to reinvigorate teaching and research skills.

Annual Meeting Placement Interview Service
The Annual Meeting Placement Interview Service helps candidates and employers  determine who will interview at the Meeting and to find and make contact with each other throughout the summer preceeding the meeting. By using the service, you could potentially interview with several employers during the Annual Meeting.
