Department of Education International Research and Studies (IRS) Program Announces Competitive Preference for Applications From Minority-serving Institutions The U.S Department of Education's International Research and Studies (IRS) program invites applications for 2010 grants. The IRS program, which provides funds for the development of foreign language materials designed to improve and strengthen foreign language and area and related studies in the U.S. education system, offers an additional five points (as a "competitive preference priority") to the applications of minority-serving institutions. Applications are due January 12.
Call for Editorial Team Proposals for Politics & Gender Applications are being sought for a new editorial team for Politics & Gender, the APSA Women and Politics Research Section's peer-reviewed journal. All editorial team proposals should reach Mary Hawkesworth, chair of the search committee, by January 15. The Editorial Selection Committee expects to appoint the editorial team by April 1, 2010.
Jeffrey C. Isaac is New Perspectives on Politics Editor APSA is pleased to announce that on June 1, 2009, Jeffrey C. Isaac took over editorship of Perspectives on Politics, with editorial offices hosted at Indiana University. The APSA Council would like to express its appreciation of James Johnson for his previous editorship of the journal and to the University of Rochester political science department for hosting the editorial offices.
Search for Editor: State Politics and Policy The president of the State Politics and Policy section of the American Political Science Association, Richard Niemi, announces the formation of a search committee to solicit proposals for a new editor or editorial team for State Politics and Policy Quarterly. A highly qualified person or team of persons is sought for a four-year term beginning in 2010 to edit SPPQ issues 11:1-14:4 (Spring 2011 to Winter 2014). Nominations as well as proposals are encouraged.
Centennial Center for Political Science & Public Affairs Research Space Available Members planning research visits to Washington, D.C. should consider making use of the Centennial Center for Political Science & Public Affairs. The Center can host scholars for short or extended stays, providing office space, computers, and other necessary resources. Applications are accepted at any time.
