The Institute for Humane Studies awards scholarships up to $12,000 for undergraduate or graduate study in the United States or abroad. Last year IHS awarded 120 scholarships to outstanding undergraduate, graduate, law, and professional students who are exploring the principles, practices, and institutions necessary to a free society through their academic work.
Required Materials: To apply for a 2009-10 Humane Studies Fellowship, please visit the application site to complete the online application. The online application requires a short registration process and allows online document uploads of all supporting materials. The entire application is online this year and we strongly encourage you to upload or paste all material into the online system. Some items, however, may be mailed; these items are listed below:
- official score reports for your most recent standardized test (GRE, LSAT, etc.)
formatted resume (optional)
- a $25.00 non-refundable application fee (if paying by check)
Please begin collecting supporting materials early, as certain items may take time to compile. Instructions for how to submit supporting materials are detailed at the end of the online application.
The deadline for your recommenders to submit their recommendations is January 16, 2009.
