The purpose of this fellowship is to give outstanding mid-career health professionals in academic and community-based settings an opportunity to learn more about the legislative process through direct participation. Fellows actively contribute to the formulation of national health policies and accelerate their careers as leaders in health policy.

Initiated in 1973, the program is funded by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF)and conducted by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academy of Sciences.

The application process typically opens in September and the application deadline typically occurs in mid-November of each year.  Submit all applications directly to IOM. You can find information on the program and the application procedure at www.healthpolicyfellows.org/home.php.
