William A. Steiger Fellowships for Legislative Studies
Printer-friendly format

The William A. Steiger Endowment enables former APSA Congressional Fellows to extend their stays in Washington in order to conduct research or complete a writing project related to their experiences as Congressional Fellows. Steiger Fellowships, however, will support scholars engaged in teaching and research in any aspect of legislative politics, domestic and international.

The Endowment recognizes the contributions Representative William  Steiger (R-WI) made to APSA's Congressional Fellowship Program during his tenure in Congress.

The fund will support Centennial Center residencies for periods of one to three months. contribute

In "Continuing a Legacy: William A. Steiger Fund Supports Former CFP Fellows at Centennial Center," which was published in the July 2006 PS: Political Science and Politics, Congressional Fellowship Program Director Jeff Biggs remembers William Steiger and describes in more detail how this fund named in his honor is used to support research done by Congressional Fellowship program alumni.
