APSA Conference for Chairs
The APSA Conference for Chairs is a unique professional development and networking opportunity for political science department chairs. It provides a venue for chairs to interact with peers in an environment tailored to their unique roles in the discipline, while combining valuable opportunities for structured and unstructured discussions regarding trends and challenges in political science today. The conference is part of the Association’s ongoing commitment to support the work of departments and is overseen by the APSA Departmental Services Committee.
Conferences were held in 2007 and 2008. Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback and the success of those meetings, APSA aims to make the Conference for Chairs a regular feature of its programming. Plans are underway for the 2009 conference, which will probably be held in conjunction with the Teaching and Learning Conference in February 2009 in Baltimore, MD.
The registration process will be conducted online and will open with or after registration opens for the Teaching and Learning Conference later this summer.
