Members of the 2015-2016 fellowship class speak with Maryland House Speaker Michael E. Busch

The annual visit to the Maryland State House in Annapolis offers fellows the opportunity to compare the state model of government to the federal system. The day-long seminar, hosted by the Maryland Institute for Policy Analysis & Research in late spring, features meetings with Members of the Maryland General Assembly, Maryland executive branch staff, and experts on Maryland state politics from academia and the media. The visit concludes with a tour of the historic Maryland State House, which once served as the nation’s capital and is the oldest state house to remain in continuous use for lawmaking purposes.
