APSA Nominating Committee
In accordance with the APSA bylaws the Nominating Committee is charged with presenting a slate of accomplished scholars and practitioners who reflect the broad membership of APSA.
APSA is now accepting suggestions for APSA officers and Council members for consideration by the nominating committee. Council or Officer suggestions can be submitted to nominations@apsanet.org with a description of why the nominee’s accomplishments, background, and views would make them a good Council member or Officer. The committee will meet in February or March to compile a slate of candidates. The slate of nominees, along with any additional nominations submitted by petition, will be put to a member vote via electronic ballot over the summer.
The 2025-2026 nominating committee is Nancy Hirschmann, University of Pennsylvania (Chair); Jonathan Benjamin-Alvarado; Sarah Binder, George Washington University; Mona Lena Krook, Rutgers University; Mark Massoud, The University of California, Santa Cruz and Erin E. Richards, Cascadia Community College.
APSA also accepts nominees by petition. Find more information on submitting a nominee by petition, and on the APSA election process, here.
Recommendations for APSA Committee Members Suggestions are also welcome for members of APSA committees, including APSA status committees, for terms starting in September of 2026. Typically, members of the standing committees serve staggered three-year terms, and members of the awards committees serve one-year terms.
