APSA eJobs
APSA eJobs is the most comprehensive database of jobs related to political science, accessible to members. The eJobs platform is updated daily with new job listings and candidate resumes, and is fully searchable by field of interest, employer or candidate name, region, keyword, position, salary, institution type, and most recent postings.
All job seekers can access eJobs; however, APSA members enjoy unique benefits including access to the full content of job listings. Non-member job candidates have limited access to eJobs. They can search the job listings and view titles, but cannot view the contents nor post CVs. Learn more about accessing eJobs as a non-member.
APSA Job Posters have access to post listings and view candidate CV’s on eJobs. Departmental Members gain access to place an unlimited number of job posts for no additional charge. Please note, individual memberships do not confer department member benefits. Individual memberships do not have access to post positions on eJobs. As a benefit of departmental membership, departmental members may search for and post job listings as well as view and search candidate CVs.
Job Posters that do not have access to enter eJobs as an employer should email eJobs@apsanet.org to update their account settings.
Departments and institutions that are not APSA members may post a job for $300 for the initial one-month job posting, and then $150 for each additional month. Learn more about joining as an APSA Department Member.
Political Science Jobs PDF
All active eJobs listings are published in the monthly PDF, Political Science Jobs. The PDF is released at the beginning of each month, containing the listings from the prior month.
eJobs Features
eJobs Highlight: Job Transparency Initiative
APSA has implemented a feature that allows job posters a way to share information with job candidates about the status of the hiring process for a particular job search. This benefit informs the job candidate:
- When jobs are posted
- When phone interviews begin
- Short-list candidates notified
- When fly out interview calls begin
- When a job search has concluded
- Search Cancelled
Saved Search
Candidates have the ability to save searches and receive updates for positions that fit the search criteria. When logged in, set up your search parameters. Then select “Save this search” to have updated results emailed on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Once a saved search is set up it can be viewed or edited under the “Saved Searches” link.
eJobs Signaling Initiative
The “Signaling form” allows APSA members to transmit or signal their interest in receiving an interview. Job seekers can write in 3 job postings they are interested in. After submissions are closed, APSA will transmit the signals to the corresponding departments. Click here to learn more.

eJobs and Non-discrimination Practices
APSA promotes non-discrimination practices across the discipline, including in the hiring policies of departments and institutions. eJobs reflects this commitment with the inclusion of two fields on the eJobs submission form.
- 3 Reasons Why You Should Read the APSA eJobs Report if You Care about the Job Market: APSA Research analyzed job postings’ data from eJobs for the six-month period from July 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018.
- Why You Should Pay More Attention to the Benefits in your Job Offer: Salaries for newly hired faculty varied by type of position offered with the highest salaries offered to tenured faculty, followed by tenure track, then non-tenure-track faculty. The 2017-2018 APSA Departmental Survey asked chairs of departments offering degrees and courses in Political Science and Government to report average salaries for their newly hired faculty by rank in the department.

Reports & Updates
2024-2025 APSA Jobs Report: Political Science and the Job Market
The 2024-2025 academic year was marked by major changes to university financial operations, as federal actions, most notably ones that froze or terminated federal grants, went into effect at the beginning of 2025. Looking at the economy overall, though GDP increased in the second quarter of 2025 and higher education employment was higher in the first quarter of 2025 than the same period in 2024, job growth overall was slower in 2025 than 2024, a warning sign for economic growth. Against this backdrop, postings on the APSA eJobs site were markedly lower
than the past two years, dropping to similar levels as those seen during the COVID-19 pandemic.
